Junior Lexi LeFever notched yet another school record on her belt for the UW-River Falls Women’s Track and Field team, running a blistering 12.02 in the outdoor 100-meter dash at the Hamline University Invitational on April 2.

Former Falcons track star returns to coach team

When Colleen Sowa was a student at UW-River Falls, she participated in track and field and competed not only on a conference level, but also on a national level. Now, she is returning to UWRF as the new head coach of the track and field team for the 2019-2020 season.
UWRF athlete of the week: Distance runner Katelyn Moore

Katelyn Moore is a freshman distance runner from Hudson, Wis. She set a 15-second personal record in the mile this season with a time of 5:11. That was good enough to take first place in the event at the Parents' Day Open at the University of Minnesota last Saturday.

Taylor Eldred, a junior thrower from River Falls, Wisconsin, threw a lifetime personal record of 55.24m in the hammer throw at the Holst Invite at Div. II Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday.
Athlete of the week: Grace Curran

Grace Curran, a senior from Taylor, Wisconsin, put in a strong performance in all three of her running events on Saturday at the Hamline Invitational. Curran finished fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.73 seconds and No. 12 in the 200m at 26.60 seconds. She also ran a great season opener of 16.38 seconds in the 100m hurdles.

Athlete of the Week: Colton Sorensen

Colton Sorensen, a junior pole vaulter from Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, took home first place honors with a vault of 4.46 meters (14 feet, 7.5 inches) in the men’s pole vault at the Wartburg Indoor Select on Feb. 4. His vault of 4.80 meters (15 feet, 9 inches) at the Chuck Peterson open in December currently ranks No. 12 overall in the country in qualifying heights and fourth in the WIAC.
Athlete of the Week: David Paynotta

David Paynotta, a senior sprinter from Finlayson, Minnesota, earned a big victory at the Falcon Winter Classic this past weekend. Paynotta took first in the men’s 55m with a time of 6.48, which currently ranks first in the WIAC and second nationally this season.
