Bryan Tester is a Journalism student at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He is also involved with the campus radio station, WRFW, as the Sports Director and the play-by-play announcer for the Men's hockey team.

Commuting to and from River Falls can be a hassle, but it can also be something that can be very beneficial. Freshmen and sophomores are required to live on campus in the dormitories or the suites at UW-River Falls. Upperclassmen can live wherever they like, some live on campus and some in River Falls and there are others who commute.

Despite taking budget hits, the campus radio station, 88.7 FM WRFW, will be hosting its annual “Can’t Stop the Music” event on May 4 in the University Center with plans to make it one of the biggest ever in organization history.

Junior sprinter David Paynotta continued his impressive track and field career as he was a part of three first-place finishes during the last Saturday’s event: the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 4×100-meter dash.

Last season, the UW-River Falls softball team struggled to get anything going during the season, finishing 4-12 in the WIAC and going 0-6 on the road. The Falcons look to bounce back and make a serious impact in the WIAC this season, however.

Last September, the Student Voice wrote a story about UW-River Falls women’s basketball Assistant Coach Mike Babler’s grandson, Leo, and his fight against an extremely rare genetic disorder called Rhizomelic Chondrodysplasia Punctata (RCDP), which is a form of dwarfism and is said to be a lethal form of skeletal dysplasia.
