If you are a college student or the grand/parent of a college student, then you owe it to yourself and the ones you love to read “Strapped: Why America’s 20 and 30-Somethings Can’t Get Ahead” by Tamara Draut.
The research is thorough and the results distressing, and I think Draut has done an excellent job of revealing all of the facets of the dire straits that face today’s young adults.
I have often mused about many of the issues that are covered in this book, and I am grateful for the information and insight that it has given me.
Our kids are not making it. They are delaying marriage, homeownership and starting a family because they are economically “strapped” like no other generation before them.
We owe it to this next generation to understand just what they are up against and demand radical change in the American way.
