After fruitful off-season, UWRF women’s basketball improves to No. 1 in league
The Falcons just wrapped up an upset victory over UW-Stevens Point, and with a loss by UW-Oshkosh, the Falcons are now in first place and control their own destiny with four games remaining in the regular season. If UWRF wins the remaining games, it will win its first regular season conference championship since 1988, according to uwrfsports.com.

Last place does not usually bring positive connotation when it comes to some sports, and at UW-River Falls, attendance at athletic events has been abysmal this year.

Softball clinches playoff berth with three WIAC wins in final week
The UW-River Falls softball team had a strong final week of the regular season finishing at 20-20 on the season and 4-2 in the last six games. The Falcons finished sixth in the WIAC and qualified for the WIAC tournament that begins on Friday, May 1, at UW-Eau Claire.
