Campus radio station needs support from university

On Monday, May 4, 88.7 FM WRFW’s annual event "Can’t Stop the Music" was held in the University Center. For those of you who don’t know, WRFW is the radio station that is on the UW-River Falls campus; it broadcasts from North Hall.

Construction begins on new Ramer Field press box

Warmer weather has allowed work on the Falcon Center project to progress ahead of schedule, including a major addition to Ramer Field, as work on the new press box has begun more than a month before it was scheduled to begin.

Softball team smashes its way to road split

A postponement of last Thursday’s scheduled doubleheader against Hamline University threw the Falcons into the thick of conference play. The Falcons hit the road this past weekend and took on WIAC foes UW-Platteville and UW-La Crosse.

Commuting can have negative effect on mental, physical health

For students, faculty and staff at UW-River Falls, commuting is almost inevitable in some way, shape or form. According to a USA Today report, the average American's commute (to work) is 25.5 minutes each way. This averages to about 204 hours per year spent commuting.

Softball sweeps a pair of double-headers in return from Florida

As spring temperatures finally roll into River Falls, the softball team is starting to find its stride. After going 5-5 on its trip to Florida, the Falcons have won four straight games up north thanks to a pair of a double-header sweeps.

Men's hockey wins WIAC playoff title, gets snubbed by NCAA

It had been 19 years since the UW-River Falls men’s hockey team appeared in a conference tournament championship game. The drought of an appearance and a conference tournament championship ended on Saturday, March 7, as the Falcons won its WIAC title match against UW-Stevens Point by a score of 3-1.

Men's basketball team looks back on successful season

After a difficult, late-season run in the WIAC, the UW-River Falls men’s basketball team saw its season come to an end, but saw a major improvement overall from previous seasons.

Through March 4, in Gallery 101 in the Kleinpell Fine Arts building, the UW-River Falls art department and UWRF Veteran Services office is presenting the “Veterans, Active Duty and Reserves Art Exhibition.”

Computer science professor returns to her passion of teaching

After a long departure from the classroom, Mary-Alice Muraski is back with her passion: teaching. Muraski joined UW-River Falls in 1984 as an assistant professor in computer science. In 30 years, she has held a lot of positions across the university.
