Local organizations host River Falls first Earth Fest
Sunday, April 24, from 2 - 5 p.m. is scheduled to be the first annual Earth Fest held at Glen Park, where over 45 local organizations will gather to promote sustainability with live music, free food, activities, free well-water testing, and a clothing swap.

UW System names new president
Jay O. Rothman, a Milwaukee lawyer, will become the eighth president of the UW System. His term is set to begin June 1, and he will earn $550,000 annually.

Dean of students position to be filled by July
A position left vacant for about 17 years is being filled once again thanks to the actions of Jamie Zamjahn, the assistant chancellor for Student Success, and Chancellor Maria Gallo. The chancellor of student position will serve as a liaison between students, their families, and supporters, and will help students make connections on campus. This position will also voice student concerns to higher authorities, including Chancellor Gallo, and will evaluate campus policies to ensure they are student-friendly.

New pantry tackles food insecurity on campus
Freddy’s Food Pantry has officially joined Rodli Hall in room 268 to help supply food and other necessities to faculty, staff and students of UWRF. It will operate Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 9:00 pm, and Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm.

Career fair returns to in-person setting
Career Services hosted their Career Fair in person this year. The Career Fair was a two-day event held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13, and Thursday, Oct. 14.

Historical homecoming tradition brings UWRF community together
This year’s homecoming week kicked off on Sept. 27 at 5:30 p.m. with Professor Jake’s famous bean soup, which was served in the campus mall to faculty, staff, students, and community members.

David Rodli Hall open house invites public
On Feb. 3, UW-River Falls celebrated the opening of David Rodli Hall. The university recently finished its $15.9 million renovations, turning the former campus dining hall into the campus’ Student Success Center. Since 2007 the building had been used for both storage and classes, but is now home to 14 departments.

Gov. Evers signs assembly bill
Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers visited the UW-River Falls campus in the University Center the morning of Nov. 22. There was a Press Conference for the official signing of Assembly Bill 168 alongside members of the Legislature and disability rights advocates.
