New CBE dean builds plans for improvement

On July 1, 2014, a new dean in the College of Business and Economics (CBE) took over at UW-River Falls with plans to build on success the college has already seen. Michael Fronmueller was chosen to replace former Dean Glenn Potts. Potts retired at the end of June after 38 years of employment at UWRF, and after holding the position of dean for five years.

Suspension of swim, dive team evokes emotion, advice for students

My lack of enthusiasm at the time for swimming and diving is something I now regret. After meeting members of the team this year and seeing how they have faced adversity in the most professional way anybody could imagine I have turned into a UWRF swimming and diving super fan.

Chancellor suspends swim, dive team effective June 30

After a several month process, the decision has been made to suspend the UWRiver Falls men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams starting June 30, 2014.

NCAA gives UWRF one-year probation

UW-River Falls has been placed on probation for one year by the NCAA after findings that the school did not monitor its scholarship process and allowed a former head football coach to be involved in arranging financial aid packages.

Donations make First National Bank of River Falls Field reality

What started as a dream was made possible thanks to support from at least 82 local businesses, countless hours of volunteer labor and the love of baseball. That dream is the First National Bank of River Falls Field, a million-dollar lighted city stadium-style ballpark located at Hoffman Park East.

Women's hockey drops NCAA semifinal, faces St. Thomas in third place game

The UW-River Falls Falcons women’s hockey team fell 4-2 to Norwich University this evening, but still have an opportunity to make team history tomorrow afternoon in the NCAA third place game against the University of St. Thomas.
