In the spirit of friendly competition and community bonding at large, Greek Week returned to UW–River Falls this year, bringing four days of friendly competition and community-building from April 21–24.
Throughout the week, the six campus fraternities and sororities participated in kickball, volleyball, tug-ofwar, chariot racing and a showing of Monsters University. Chapters earned points by meeting attendance thresholds and by winning events. By the end of the week, Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) finished first with 35 points and will have a plaque displayed in the University Center.
Greek Week, however, was about more than competition.
“I’m really enjoying [Greek Week],” said Samantha, a freshman member of Phi Mu. “It’s a great way to bond with [my sorority] and the other Greek life as well.”
Amelia Kelly, a sophomore in Alpha Omicron Pi and one of the event’s organizers, shared that sentiment.
“[Greek Week] brings inclusion,” Kelly said. “[It’s] a chance for everyone to get together and have fun.” She added that she was proud of the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by chapter members.
At a university where opportunities can sometimes feel limited compared with larger campuses, Greek life offers students a network for connection and involvement.
“When you have smaller chapters,” said Cole, a freshman in Theta Chi, “it leads to close connections with all the members.”
Those connections were on full display during Greek Week 2026. As the semester winds down, members say they continue to support one another across organizations, strengthening the sense of community that the week is designed to celebrate
