Students to launch bean bag tournament

In support of local community members, students of the Marketing for Non-Profit class will join forces with ARC, Inc. to feature a beanbag tournament fundraiser titled Toss for a Cause. The event will be held Thursday, May 1, at Junior’s Bar and Restaurant located at 414 S Main St., in River Falls. Registration for the event starts at 6:30 p.m., the tournament will begin at 7 p.m.

Summer Kelly, a UW-River Falls student said, “This is a great way to have fun, and support a great cause for the community.”

Students of the Marketing for Non-Profit class have partnered with ARC, Inc. in semesters past. They are trying to raise at least $800 from this event.

ARC, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing short-term financial assistance to individuals and families within the River Falls and Ellsworth School Districts. ARC, Inc. offers financial support for living expenses such as rent, utilities, food, and transportation needs. Nearly 900 individuals and families have benefited from ARC, Inc. Jon Atwell will headline the beanbag tournament, providing live music for the event. The tournament fees are $10 per two-person team or $5 per person. To sign your team up for the tournament, visit the information table in the University Center of UWRF’s campus, April 28 through April 30. Donations will also be accepted at the door. All event proceeds will benefit ARC, Inc.
