Wildcats

River Falls High School Wildcats fell to Eau Claire Memorial 30-9 Friday night at Ramer Field. Nick Zimmerman led the Wildcats offensively rushing 17 times for 90 yards. Lucas Weiss hit Evan Huppert from six yards out, in the fourth quarter, for the only touchdown of the day for River Falls. Weiss also had a 32 yard field goal in the second quarter. The Wildcats are on the road at Chippewa Falls this Friday to play in the Cardinals homecoming game. The action can be heard live at 6:30 p.m., Friday, on 88.7 FM WRFW.

Golf

The Falcon Golf Team finished 10th this past weekend at the Division III Midwest Classic at the Jewel in Lake City, Minn. Mackenzie Casey led the Falcons shooting a tournament total of 178 a +34 score. She finished tied 23rd overall. The Golf Team also played Augsburg Thursday but results were not available in time for this publication. The Falcons are at the Stevens Point Invitational next weekend at Stevens Point.

Volleyball

The Falcons lost a pair of heart breakers over the weekend to conference foes UW-Platteville and UW-La Crosse. Both matches were 3-1 decisions. The Falcons are now 6-5 overall and 0-2 in the WIAC. The volleyball team was at UW-Stout Wednesday in another conference matchup but results of that game were not available in time for publication. At 7 p.m. on Oct. 13 the Falcons will be back at home against UW-Superior.

Soccer

The women dominated the pitch this past weekend recording a conference win 2-1 at home over UW-Platteville Saturday in their WIAC opener and a 9-0 win at Ripon College on Sunday. Alyssa Manor led the Falcons over the weekend with six points, two goals and four assists. The Falcons played Wednesday at Northland College, but results were not available in time for publication. At 4 p.m. on Wednesday UWRF will be home against UW-Superior.
