The latest monthly surplus property sale at UW-River Falls drew record attendance and required school officials to extend the four-hour event due to a large amount of inventory, including items such as snowshoes, couches, ice augers and computers.

Bar Review: Maverick's has delicious food, okay service
This week I decided to check out a bar that doesn’t get much attention from UWRF students. I’m not really sure why Maverick’s isn’t more popular because I sure liked it. The service and drinks were good, and the fries were delicious.

Minnesota Public Radio's Kerri Miller speaks at UWRF Working Journalists Seminar
Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) personality Kerri Miller graduated from college with a degree in broadcast journalism and English literature and she worked in a few different markets across the country, including in the Twin Cities, but it wasn’t until she started at MPR that she found what she described as “the job that brought all the skills that I was good at together.”

Students and faculty should speak out against current budget cuts, fight for a quality education
I just returned from my first Faculty Senate meeting at UW-River Falls. I was there as a photojournalist, but it was hard for me to separate my feelings from my work as I was observing a meeting where topics that have largely impacted on my life were being discussed with strong tension in the room.

Moonshiner's and After Dark offers an entertaining night with clean facilities
For those of you following this new column, I reviewed Broz on a Monday two weeks ago. I checked out Broz on a Thursday, but I’m not going to review the same bar twice in a row. After spending most of my night at Broz, I went over to Moonshiners around 1:00 a.m., which I’ve heard is the time to go there. Apparently, Moonshiners is the type of bar that you only go to late. If you go there early, no one will be there.
