Disney continues evolving 'Star Wars'

Well it’s that time of year again, with a new trailer for episode nine coming out a month ago, and May 4  just happening. Star Wars is on the public's mind with many wondering whether Disney is making this science fiction tale better or worse.

Audiences eagerly anticipate 'Game of Thrones' season eight

"Game of Thrones" is a good example of a phenomena that can sometimes take place in the modern entertainment industry: a good product. Since its premiere back in April of 2011, "Game of Thrones" has continued to grow in popularity and is expected to grow even more popular due to the upcoming season eight premiere. Staff predicts Oscar outcomes

The Academy Awards, also known to many as the Oscars, are the oldest worldwide entertainment award ceremony, going on its 91st iteration. The first award was presented back in 1929, and has been a staple of film achievement ever since. Many categories have come and gone over the years, however the Best Director category has been around since the beginning.

Campus dairy bar opens

Oct. 10, was the grand opening for the UW-River Falls campus dairy bar named Freddy’s Dairy Bar. The dairy bar is located on the second floor of the Agricultural Science building, and offers students another outlet to purchase products such as ice cream, shakes, malts and much more.

UWRF physics professor Korenic talks teaching and hobbies

Eileen Korenic has been teaching students at UWRF for many years and hopefully many to come. During her time here, Korenic has helped students by developing courses that aren't just difficult to be difficult, but instead are described as engaging and entertaining. Many students end up in one or more of her classes while attending UWRF, spending multiple days a week with her. Even though students spend so much time with her in class, they don’t always really get to know the woman behind the lecture.

At the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, there are many students who need professional assistance when it comes to dieting and nutrition. Chiung Lien, the new campus Dietitian Nutritionist, is that professional help. Lien has been helping students in as many ways as possible to make sure anyone can safely and happily enjoy dining at UWRF.

The freshmen experience at UW-River Falls

Out of several interviews conducted by Student Voice staff, it was discovered that homesickness is one of the leading causes of stress among freshmen students. Students are accepted at UWRF from across the state, the country, and even internationally; for some, the campus is in their backyard. For others, what they call "home" might be hundreds of miles away.
