Friendly reminder: Have fun but stay safe this Halloween weekend
Halloween is quickly approaching, and many students at UW-River Falls are planning their transformations into a wide variety of characters this weekend. Dressing up, referencing your favorite aspect of pop culture or just getting a laugh out of people is a fun way to spend the weekend. However, remember to be respectful this Halloween by not dressing in costumes that may incite violence or make others feel unsafe.

On Sunday, Oct. 16, candidate for the U.S. Senate Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) and Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) were in the Falcon’s Nest in the University Center, campaigning for Feingold as one of Feingold’s many stops around the state.

Trump's behavior promotes rape culture, is intolerable
If you own a television, use social media or look at what is trending online, you’ve undoubtedly heard Donald Trump’s degrading remarks about women. In a recently leaked conversation from 2005, Trump speaks with television host Billy Bush (with a microphone on him, nonetheless) openly about being able to do whatever he wants with women, simply because he’s famous.

Annual art installations should be appreciated by all
The 25th Annual Outdoor Art Installations were held on Oct. 5 and 6. The installations featured artwork created by students and faculty, as well as pieces created by full class sections.

Student Senate Update: 10/04/16
Among motions passed during the Oct. 4 Student Senate meeting was one allocating $8,000 from the Student Senate Funding Pool to finance the purchase of five desktop computers and two laptops for the Student Government Association Office.
