Travel can be a wonderful thing if done for the right reasons
With another March comes another spring break, which means that many students will be traveling over the course of the next week. No one is debating that traveling is a wonderful thing, but we must make sure we’re doing it for the right reasons.

Selectively denying press access takes toll on accountability
On Feb. 24, a number of news organizations were excluded from an off-camera White House press briefing, while others were selectively chosen to attend. This is a gross violation of the rights of the press as government watchdogs.

Allocable segregated fees vital to campus, not something to 'opt-out' of
Last week, Gov. Scott Walker presented a new budget proposal to the Wisconsin Legislature. Part of this proposal includes the possibility for UW System students to "opt-out" of paying allocable segregated fees in the future.

At UWRF, campus engagement still leaves a lot to be desired
Among its students, UW-River Falls has a pervasive reputation as a suitcase school. Students who live on campus notice residence hall parking lots largely empty on the weekends, as many students decide to head home after the first few weeks. Unfortunately, many student organizations and campus departments notice a similar trend.
