Relay for Life aids in cancer research at River Falls High School

Relay for Life is an annual fundraiser that is open to anyone regardless of their connection to cancer who wants to participate. The “relay,” is a walk around the track of the gymnasium, where each corner of the track represents part of a cancer patients journey.

BRIDGE uses Campus Life program to give adults with disabilities a glimpse of college

In 2010, BRIDGE partnered with Amy Lloyd, Service Coordinator at UWRF, to provide BRIDGE clients a chance to get a college experience once a month through various social activities. Eventually, BRIDGE launched their Campus Life program in the spring semester of 2015. With a successful inaugural semester, the Campus Life program continues to thrive at UWRF.

Over time, cell phone companies have continually upgraded the aesthetic and the functionality of the cell phone by making it faster, more customizable and by adding a touchscreen, applications and even internet capabilities.

Freshman perspective: Charlie Swanson

Growing up in Lino Lakes, Minn., I was fortunate to be a part of a wonderful school district. I had access to all the resources and help that I could have wanted. Education was prioritized over everything else in my family, which lead to a lot of pressure on me to succeed in the classroom. However, video games, sports, friends and sleep all took precedence for me. 

Going to college was always my goal, but I didn’t take my education as seriously as a college bound student should. Coming into the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, I knew I would have to finally learn how to become a student in order to be successful.
