Student's documentary explores debate over two dams in River Falls

What started out as a small Web video project for UW-River Falls student Sydney Howell has grown into something much bigger. Her documentary, titled “The Dam Decision,” made it to the big screen at the Falls Theatre in downtown River Falls on Monday, Dec. 7.

Annual career fair educates students

Career Services at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls held its annual Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 14, and offered free LinkedIn photo headshots for students who attended the event. LinkedIn is a social medium that is mainly used for professional networking between businesses and persons who are looking for a job. LinkedIn can help students establish themselves in the professional world in ways that other social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook cannot.

Data degree to be available at UWRF next semester

A new bachelor’s degree in data science and predictive analytics will be available for UW-River Falls students in the spring of 2016, and UWRF is the only school in the UW System and one of two universities in the Twin Cities area that offers the program at the undergraduate level.
