Strong opinions shown in Wis. state elections
Sheila Harsdorf, Dan Olson, Dean Knudson and Diane Odeen are four names that will appear on the ballot on Election Day in River Falls. They are the candidates running for Wisconsin State Senate and State Assembly and they all have strong views about what the key issues are in this area and how they can best represent their constituents at the state level in Madison.

Wisconsin U.S. Senate race has candidates aiming to replace Kohl
Republican Tommy Thompson and Democrat Tammy Baldwin, Wisconsin’s candidates for U.S. Senate, vie to replace retiring Senator Herb Kohl in what has been a very tight race thus far.

Falcon Promise program continues to improve campus
The Falcon Promise, approved by the UW-River Falls Student Senate in spring of 2011, is living up to its goals of increasing student retention and success and enhancing the learning environment at UWRF.
There are four main initiatives in which the funds from the Falcon Promise are being invested. They include: tutoring, undergraduate research opportunities, increased student scholarships and enhanced learning spaces.

Senate holds voter registration on UWRF campus
With the presidential election just one month away, voter registration has been increasing on campus. Students are encouraged by River Falls Deputy City Clerk Bridget Hieb, and the Student Senate to register during the open voter registration period, which is the easiest time to complete the process.

Students to impact 2012 presidential race
For the majority of students at UW-River Falls, Nov. 6, 2012, will be the first time they are able to vote in a presidential election. Even though the right to vote when one turns 18 is considered a very important privilege in the United States, it may not be enough to get college students to the polls.

The books close on the 74th Student Senate
