‘Star Wars’ doesn’t live up to lofty expectations
When “The Phantom Menace” was first released in 1999, I was a bright-eyed teenager absolutely obsessed with the “Star Wars” universe. I spent the months leading up to the premiere buying as many Darth Maul actions figures as I could find, and putting in dozens of hours on the “Racer” video game tie-in. I was pumped. Then I saw the movie.

Neeson stars in emotionally complex thriller
I am all about watching movie previews and trailers, which means that I generally go into a movie with at least an idea of what to expect. Most of the time my expectations are met, but every so often, a movie will be drastically different than how it looks in the previews. “The Grey” is one of those movies.

George Clooney once again proves Oscar worthy
After the Academy Award nominations were announced last month, it dawned on me that I had only seen one of the movies up for best picture. To begin my last-minute scramble to watch as many of these movies as possible before the big show, I decided on what is arguably the current Oscar front-runner– the George Clooney vehicle, “The Descendants.”

Deer mating season results in deer, car collisions
Motorists need to be on the lookout for wandering deer this month, as the animals’ mating season will have them increasingly crossing rural highways and into the path of passing vehicles, according to a Wisconsin Department of Transportation, or WisDOT, press release.
