Twins earn awards
Two weeks ago the Twins became the first team in 13 years to have both the Most Valuable Player and Cy Young award winners on the same team, and if Francisco Liriano had stayed healthy all year they would have had the Rookie of the Year as well.

Men’ basketball team ready to hit the court
After going 6-19 overall in the 2005-06 season and finishing in seventh place in the division with a 5-11 record, men’s basketball is starting back up on Nov. 17. The team’s first game will take place at 6 p.m. against William Penn at the Bethel Tip Off Tournament.

Baseball club preps for its first season
ke men’s soccer, men’s baseball at UWRF is having to build a team from the ground up. Unlike the soccer team, which is brand new to UWRF, the new baseball team is replacing the original team which was cut after the 2001-2002 season because of Title IX and budget cuts.

Rogers makes a run at historic record
Tigers starting pitcher Kenny Rogers has, for the past few weeks, put together a playoff run nearly unmatched in baseball history. He now has 23 consecutive scoreless innings spanning three starts this postseason, which date back to his start in Game 3 of the ALDS against New York. During those three starts Rogers struck out 19 batters and gave up nine hits without allowing any earned runs.

Soccer club hopes to kick into varsity
UW-RF has had varsity women’s soccer since 1994, but there has never been a men’s team. Last year though, a group of students decided to try and change that.
