University has options for students without licenses
UWRF has many opportunities for students without cars or a license to still get around the area. Cheap transportation and events like Get on the Bus are ways for students to avoid the costs of owning a car and creates an opportunity to meet other students.

When Assistant Professor Desiree Wiesen-Martin isn't teaching students criminology, grading papers or conducting research in her field of expertise, she can be found with a book in her hand, exploring different places and meeting interesting characters.

'Equal Pay Day' to inform UWRF students about pay equality
"Equal Pay Day" is the day when the amount of money a woman makes this year will have caught up to the amount of money a man made last year, and this year "Equal Pay Day" lands on April 14, and the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will have a table in the University Center to provide information about pay equality.

Chinese New Year Gala hits UW-River Falls
The Chinese New Year Gala is an event that was inspired by the "New Year’s Gala," a television program that is shown in China during the New Year celebrations, according to Alex Hatheway, liaison to the students from the Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU).

'Jade Sky' presentations offer in-depth look at Chinese astronomy
UW-River Falls physics Professor Eileen Korenic presents a free presentation in the planetarium once a month called: "Jade Sky: Astronomy in China." Korenic said these presentations are to celebrate the Year of China at UWRF. There were two presentations on Thursday, Feb. 12, because Feb. 19 is the start of the Chinese New Year.

St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra to host concert at UW-River Falls
The St. Croix Valley Symphony Orchestra has two concerts coming up. One concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater, Minnesota. The second concert will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, in the William Abbott Concert Hall at UW-River Falls.
