UWRF Volleyball Serves Up New Season
October 13, 2025
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls volleyball team held their first game this year on Aug. 29. This led the team on a series of tournaments and away games to begin their season. Because of this, the Falcons first regular-season home game took place at 7 p.m. on Sep. 23 against St. Catherines University.
The course of the game consisted of five sets played, with UWRF winning 3-2. Overall, the volleyball team has a record of 9-9 so far this fall, which compared to last year was 12-20 for the entire season.
Although St. Catherines is not part of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC), they are still apart of the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) for women's volleyball. St. Catherines is commonly referred to as St. Kates or Wildcats and their record for the season so far is 5-11.
Sets one, two, and five of the game that evening were won by UW-River Falls, while the wins for sets three and four were obtained by St. Catherines. As a team, the Falcons held a total of 88 digs, 61 assists and 65 kills in the game against the Wildcats.
UWRF player, Blessing Adebisi, lead the game in the number of kills and blocks, with 17 total kills and 4 successful blocks. Olivia Noble was obtained 49 assists and Audrey Petersen got 31 digs for River Falls as well.
As the season continues, the UW-River Falls Falcons plan to keep pushing to be their best and to reach their goals. After a few away games in Whitewater, WI, the volleyball team aims ahead for the UWRF Quadrangular to begin their October stretch.
