Alumna inspired by UW-River Falls students

September 27, 2012

It was a cool evening; the grill was promising goodies and the conversations with UW-River Falls students, representing a variety of disciplines, indicated that all is not lost.

These young folks were not only engaged in discussing meaningful issues that face their generation, but also informed about the major concerns that face our entire U. S. population. They understand and accept the ideas that made our nation that “shining city on a hill.” They continue to believe in a real American dream and promise.

They can comprehend words from Patrick Henry. “...it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts.” Their faith, conviction, and contributions to a cause serve us all well.

Peers who pay attention and act accordingly will step into a future that will applaud success and a nation secure in liberty.
