River Falls residents approve one of three referendum questions

By 25 votes, the residents of River Falls approved question one out of the three questions that were put to vote by a referendum on Nov. 8. The other two questions failed by several hundred votes.

In question one, the residents approved $19 million to be used to upgrade energy efficiencies, secure entrances, handicap accessibilities and maintenance improvements. The final vote tally was 2,004 to 1,979.

The second question, which asked for $16 million for school expansion and renovations, was defeated 2,167 to 1,785.

The third question brought out even more opposition, as it failed 2,406 to 1,543. This question regarded updates and remodeling with the River Falls Academy building.
