UW-River Falls Journalism Professor Meseret Chekol Reta died of liver cancer on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012. He was native to Ethiopia where he remained active in journalism even after his immigration to the United States. Reta is survived by his wife and a daughter who just started college. Funeral arrangements are to be determined.
