Student attacked on campus

Published November 12, 2006

A UW-River Falls student was involved in a sexual battery at 11:30 p.m. Thursday on the Blue Stem pathway, according to UWRF Public Safety.

The student was walking to campus from the Ramer Field parking lot when an individual jumped out of the bushes near the nursery plot shed and “attacked the student,” Public Safety reported. The student was released after the attacker apparently heard a noise and ran away.

Any information regarding the incident should be directed to the River Falls Police Department at 425-0909.

The campus community is being encouraged to take caution by walking in groups in well-lit, well-traveled areas at night. Call boxes with blue lights are in place around campus, and Public Safety can be contacted at 425-3133 for an escort.
